about

Our hearts go out to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Clean Water is a right. Peaceful Protest is a right. Native Americans have already had their land stolen once and we must do whatever we can to stop dapl. 100% of the proceeds of this compilation will go to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe via Water Protectors, IIYC, Winyan Camps and the Red Warrior Camp. Donations will be sent regularly and urgently with every 30 dollars sent from Bandcamp to 1980's PayPal account. It will be spread out between these groups for now and as needs arise and change they will be updated on this description. Thank you for everything you do to stop this pipeline.

This release is our 73rd (that's crazy!) and the music community that has evolved from these releases has been one of the best things that could have ever ever ever happened to me in my whole life. I have a lot of love everyone I've worked with over years and love all of this music.

Here's a little bit about the title of this comp:
Etalons are widely used in telecommunications, lasers and spectroscopy to control and measure the wavelengths of light. Etalon in french also means standard. For this compilation artists worked together toward a goal and created original works setting a standard for this label and our growing music and artist community. In essence we have not just created music for, but with.
